Read This Before It Kills You

Are you so busy working that you neglect your health? Do you find it difficult to make time to exercise? Do you find yourself working when you feel too ill to do so? Do you feel as though you have no time to relax? Have you put on weight? Do you find yourself eating unhealthy ready made meals or fast food through lack of time?
Many business owners are guilty of these sins and I am the worlds worst. Recently, I allowed myself to become so ill that I could barely sleep. And in the end, my 10 year old daughter said, “Mum, your health is more important. And if you don’t see the doctor and get well, then you’ll be less productive in your business.”
And she was right. So I took her advice. And knowing that prevention is better than cure, when it comes to health, I decided to find some health and fitness related blogs and sites. Here are a few of my favourites:
Fat Man Unleashed: Israel only launched this blog at the end of August, but it has already rocketed in popularity. It is a funny chronicle of his personal weight loss quest. And he has some pretty hilarious post titles including: I Got Hit by a Train and Survived and My Underwear Cuts Into My Fat.
The Raw and the Cooked: Opal, of Vegan Momma runs this blog, which contains many delicious and healthy recipes including: Carrot, Apple Juice and Strawberry Apple Pudding.
The Fit Shack: JoLynn covers many health and diet related issues. And if you’ve ever wondered – What On Earth Is Xanthan Gum? You might want to check out her post, and read about some of the not so nice things you may be eating without even knowing it. And if you’re a fast food junky, prepare to be shocked by Fast Food, Heroin and Food Addiction. What’s the Connection?
The Drayton Bird Blog: is not a health blog but he has written some hilarious fitness related posts recently including this one: More Sweaty Armpits and Addled Brains. It may not make you healthy but it will make you laugh (good for mental health).

You are so right that when you are working hard on your own business, it’s very easy to neglect your health. I’ve found that if I make myself take a break to exercise though, that I feel so much better, especially since I sit at the computer most of the day!
Glad you liked it, Cath – and having spent much of my life eating and drinking, two things have helped me.
I walk just about everywhere – remember legs, folks? And I almost never eat fast foods.
It’s awesome and wonderful how children have a way of saying something and having it cut to your very core to make you act on it.
