LOL Rita – I hope all that cleaning inspires you. “Crash, burn and die” is interesting – all I got was “Go die”. Now I’m starting to feel cheated. It was probably a rejected and dejected novelist who left it.

Hi Ellen – You’re welcome. I got hacked off with social media at one point and wondered if it was all worth it. I even began to wonder if blogging was worth it – but I was watching the wrong people.

Hi Hunter – LOL – it sounds like they add the quick part to persuade you that they’re not asking you to do anything major. Unless you’ve been reading it wrong and they’re asking you for a quick tumble.

Hi Stephanie – When I first joined I made the mistake of stumbling stuff just because people asked. But before I was banned, I finally got to the point of ignoring the persistent offenders. Like you say – if folk keep on stumbling any old crap, you stop trusting them and ignore stuff they’ve stumbled.

I’ve never emailed people asking for a Stumble… suppose it wouldn’t hurt to try it. I’ve gotten some good traffic sometimes from SU (Vered, you started one that went really well recently!) which is a lot of fun. My husband uses SU a lot and gets such a kick out of seeing my stuff come up on his browser.

If I get a ‘vote for me’ request, I’ll look at it pretty hard. I don’t grant them casually. I do have to like what I’m reading. I know I can trust some people to send me good links for SU or Digg while others I’ve learned to just ignore.

I rarely send emails to ask for votes. When I do, it’s because I have something that’s gaining traction on Digg and has a shot at the front page, and that doesn’t happen very often. I send a separate email to each person so I can do some personalization.

I sometimes get bothered when I get lots of requests, and it’s sometimes enough to get me to stop reading someone’s blog. If someone sends me an email once in a while, that’s fine–it gives me an excuse to reply and say “OK, now stumble mine.”

What do people mean when they ask for a “quick stumble?” What makes it quicker than another kind of stumble?

Cath, Ha! Too funny. Well, if you toilet cleaning doesn't add to you becoming a better writer at least it will be clean! Thanks for the link. Yeah, I'm starting to think like Monika regarding voting and all of that. I just wonder if social media is a waste. I do think that it's okay to ask for the rare vote once in awhile on your blog.
