Getting & Giving Up: Silva Life System Review Part 5

March 26, 2009

Wouldn’t you like to get the things you do want in life and give up all your bad habits? Well this is what days 7 and 8 of the Silva Life System claim to enable you to do.

And I’m not superwoman but so far, the Silva Life System course has helped me do a heap of stuff including: cure my chronic insomnia, alleviate pain from nerve damage, heal a scar and stop smoking. So anything else is a huge bonus.

It’s a 10 part course, which I’m studying over around 20 days and recording my progress as I go. Here’s my review of Day 7 and 8 of the course, covering Successful Manifestations and Habit Control.

Day 7 of The Silva Life System: Successful Manifestations – What’s Included

  • Faith, Desire, Belief & Expectancy.

  • Finding Solutions To Problems With Frames.

  • Going Into The Future To Roleplay.

  • Making Goals Believable.

  • The Mirror Of The Mind.

  • Working With Feedback.

  • The Silva Life System Day 7: My Experience

Day 7 of the Silva Life System is all about setting and achieving your goals. Yes, the title is Successful Manifestation. But before your skeptical mind starts spinning into overdrive – this isn’t about thinking about something you want, until you get it.

Successful manifestation involves a whole lot more than that. As Laura Silva explains, manifesting what you want in life requires faith, desire, belief, expectancy, action and persistence.

This is a lot like the stuff taught by Napolean Hill, over 70 years ago. But if you’ve ever read Hill’s work, you’ll know that it isn’t easy to follow or put into practice. And the Silva Life System makes it much easier to understand and do.

You learn how to visualize at Alpha level, using frames – one frame shows your existing situation, or problems and another frame provides the solution or goal.

I like the idea of using frames and also doing all this at the Alpha level. I find visualization quite tough and I know many other people struggle with it too, so all this helps a lot.

But I did this exercise three times and I really struggled to achieve anything meaningful in the time given. So I tried doing this at my own pace, using the Alpha sound in the background and it was much easier. I think you need to do this with most of the Silva exercises, once you’ve learned the basics.

In addition to helping with visualization, the course also helps you reach the level of emotion which is needed to produce results.

Anyone can say, “I really want a better job, or a healthy body etc etc as if they really mean it. But to successfully manifest what you want you’ve got to really feel that desire. And the Silva Life System gives you questions to ask yourself, which increase the intensity of those emotions.

If your goals just seem impossible, it can be tough to believe you’ll ever achieve them. So, you also learn how to break down your goals into smaller more believable parts, using frames.

Laura Silva gave an example of a woman who had a tumor which was too big to be removed through surgery. So, the woman needed to shrink that tumor a lot, before surgeons could remove it. And it wasn’t working, because she didn’t believe it could work.

In the end, the woman used frames to shrink the tumour gradually. And it worked, because it was easier for her to believe that she could shrink the tumour by a small amount each week.

Finally, if you’re still struggling to achieve your goals, using these techniques, you’ll learn how to use the Mirror of the Mind to get feedback. That way, you’ll easily be able to see where you’re going wrong and make any changes.

My Feelings After Day 7 Of The Silva Life System

I enjoyed this part of the course. Some of it was similar to other work I’ve encountered in the past, so I know it is effective. But the goals I’ve set myself can’t be achieved overnight, so I’ll be coming back to this in the future, to report on my progress.

If you struggle with things like visualizing what you want, or simply believing that it’s possible to achieve what you want – I think you’ll find this part of the course helpful.

The Silva Life System Day 8: Habit Control – What Is Included

    • How Memory & Behaviour Encourages Bad Habits.

    • Why Imagination Is more Important Than Willpower.

    • Pattern Interruption.

    • Using Frames To Change Bad Habits.

    • Using the 3, 2, 1 Method To Change Habits.

    • Using Projection To Change Habits.

    • Mental Exercise.

The Silva Life System Day 8 – My Experience

Before I began the Silva Life System, I was looking forward to the habit control part of the course, as I wanted help to quit smoking. But Silva Life System already helped me to do that on Day 2 and I haven’t smoked for over two weeks.

But I have plenty other habits I need to change – for a start, I need to get more exercise. And habit control is quite easy to learn because you use the same frame and mirror exercises that you use for manifestation.

Using frames helped me to work out my problems easier. I’m lazy in the winter as I don’t like the cold and using frames taught me that I need to choose a form of exercise, which I’ll be happy to do in the winter too. This may seem kind of obvious but when it’s freezing cold and you’re looking for an excuse not to exercise, it isn’t so easy to come up with these simple solutions on your own.

In addition to using frames, Laura Silva also explains how to use the 321 method to change bad habits. And she explains how she used these habit control methods to give up smoking and lose over 100 lbs.

My Feelings After Day 8 Of The Silva Life System

As I mentioned earlier, my worst habit was smoking. Before I began the Silva Life System, I just couldn’t force myself to even attempt to quit smoking but I managed to quit on Day 2 of the course and I haven’t smoked for two weeks.

The habit control section of the course has given me plenty of exercises to ensure that I don’t smoke again. And it’s also given me the resources I need to tackle other problem areas of my life.

Because of what I’ve achieved so far, I’m confident that these exercises will work for me. And if you have any bad habits, such as overeating, smoking, drinking, I’m sure it will work for you too.

But you need to do the whole course. While it might be tempting to skip to the habit control section of the course, to save time – you really need to learn all the techniques that the Silva Life System offers. I was tempted to skip forward to Day 8 but I quit smoking on Day 2. Also, other parts of the course helped me tackle problems that may have prevented me from quitting smoking.

For example, I used to suffer a lot of pain from damaged nerves in my face and I had chronic insomnia. The Silva Life System helped me to cure those. And I’m sure that if I was still suffering pain and insomnia, I’d find it much more difficult not to smoke.

Hi Barbara – It is brilliant when the pieces fall into place. And I’ve noticed in your signature that you’ve just answered a question I really wanted to know the answer to.

I’m so sick and tired of losing affiliate commissions. Thank you.

Hi Lillie – Thank you. Your healing experience was pretty impressive too.

Hi Vered – As unbelievable as it might sound – it is working. And getting rid of insomnia and pain without drugs or surgery is great. Of course, it could just be a placebo effect.

Hi Wilhb – Eliminating bad habits is definitely important and I guess that it does help us to be more competitive.

I am so happy this has helped you with the nerve pain – not to mention all the rest. This series should be made into a Hollywood movie, it is so exciting! Now who could play our heroine Catherine?

      Hi Cath,

I’m with Robin — GREAT Makings for a movie! Your experiences have been so very inspiring and it is a joy to think of you cigarette and pain free getting lots of sleep as your scars disappear! Wow!

I continue to enjoy the guided meditation and while I can’t think of anything specifically I would need the course for — your reviews have been so inspiring I am thinking of getting the full version — can’t hurt!

I’m all for coming into my fullest potential and I am sure I could think of a lot more things I could use help on … especially Day 7 — I have always had a bit of trouble with visualization myself.

Thanks Cath — as always – -it is wonderful to see your progress and your insight into the Silva System.

      Love,
      Jenny

Hi Robin – LOL – It certainly feels as long as a movie. I only have two parts left to review. Part 9 was like taking drugs but safer, I think. And I’m doing Part 10 tomorrow.

    10. cathlawson on March 27th, 2009 12:10 pm

Hi Jenny – The guided meditation is fab. But with the full version you get the alpha sound with no words. That is really cool because once you’ve got used to the guided meditation, you can use the alpha sound for lots of things.

I’ve used it for doing a lot of the exercises on my own. And today I started using it while I was writing. It really does seem to take you into Alpha easily while you are awake. Marelisa used it that way to pass the New York bar.

Day 9 really helps a lot with visualization. It actually helps you to create things in you to create things from scratch, which is really exciting.

Hi Catherine – What a fascinating series. With all of the success you’re having with the Silva Life System, you would make a great spokesperson for them,

I’m happy to hear your insomnia and pain are gone. And quitting smoking is fabulous too. I’m guessing you’re feeling 100% better.

Hi Barbara – Thanks – I may suggest that to them. I’m feeling 100% better in many ways and it has been so worth it.

But giving up smoking is having some bad side effects. Apparently – a lot of it is due to all the toxins coming out – my skin has even gone all dry and started peeling off. It’s only now that I’m beginning to realise what I was really putting inside myself.

You’re really studying this course the way it was meant to be done. It’s so interesting to see our different takes on the CDs. I’ve been mostly just listening to the modules as if I were reading a book, wanting to find out what it’s about. I’m not trying things out much, because it would require more time and a real commitment from me that I’m not ready and able to give it. You’ve plunged right in, put it to use in tackling your problems, and look at the success you’ve had! It’s inspiring. I look forward to reports of other successes too.

Hi Dot – I haven’t been reading much lately so I need to check out how you’re getting on. I guess everyone studies things in different ways. But I have to say, I don’t think it matters if you’re not taking notes and you’re not using Silva Life System to tackle your problems as you go.

I’ve just done the last couple of CD’s and everything changes at the end of the course anyway. So, it doesn’t matter if you don’t remember everything you’ve learned. You’ll see when you get there. I’m going to post the last review over the next few days.
